Policies

Journal of Kurdisani for Strategic Studies (JKSS) has the following polices:

1. Archiving policy

This JKSS  the LOCKSS and CLOCKSS systems to construct a distributed archiving system among participating libraries, allowing those institutions to produce permanent archives of the journal for preservation and restoration reasons.

LOCKSS: Open Journal Systems supports the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) mechanism to ensure the journal's archive is safe and permanent. LOCKSS is open source software created by the Stanford University Library that enables libraries to archive selected online journals by polling journal websites for newly published content and archiving it. If content is determined to be damaged or missing, the other caches or the journal are utilized to recover it.

Open Journal Systems also supports the CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) mechanism to ensure that the journal's archive is safe and permanent. CLOCKSS is based on the open-source LOCKSS software created by Stanford University Library, which enables libraries to archive selected web journals by frequently polling journal websites for freshly published material and archiving it. If content is determined to be damaged or missing, the other caches or the journal are utilized to recover it.

2. Repository policy

After publication, JKSS permits authors to utilize the final published version of an article or edited collection chapter (publisher pdf) for self-archiving (author's personal website) and/or archiving in an institutional repository (on a non-profit server).
The publication source should be cited. A link to the journal's homepage or the article's DOI must be provided for each article.
The authors MAY NOT self-archive their papers in public or commercial subject-based archives.

3. Open Access policy (CC)

For non-commercial purposes, JKSS applies the Creative Commons Attribution (Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0)) license, which permits others to distribute and copy the article, as well as to incorporate it into a collective work, so long as they attribute the author(s) and do not alter or modify the article.

This license allows writers to retain unrestricted copyright and permits others to remix, modify, and build upon their work for non-commercial purposes, so long as the author and original source are mentioned.

4. Copyright

All papers published by JKSS are made freely and permanently available online immediately upon publication, without subscription prices or registration obstacles.

5. Publication fees

JKSS does not charge subscription fees because it thinks that the scientific community's interests are best served by an instant, global, limitless, open access to the full text of research publications.

Authors are required to pay 150,000 IQD (about 100 USD) in publication fees.

6. Authorship

After a manuscript has been approved, requests to alter authorship are not permitted. If such revisions are necessary, the author must provide a formal note outlining the reasons for the modification.
