Thank you for choosing to publish with JKSS, the Social Science Journal of the Kurdistan Institution, as a platform for disseminating your research findings. This guide will help you prepare your manuscript for JKSS, ensuring a smooth publication process.
Aims and scope: The Journal of Kurdistani for Strategic Studies is an open-access journal that publishes peer-reviewed scientific papers, including original research articles, review articles, dissertations, and theses, covering social sciences and humanities. Submissions intended for an academic award that significantly impact specific areas are also encouraged.
Manuscript format and structure: Please review this section carefully to prevent issues with the submission process. Submissions that are properly prepared, with minimal errors and adherence to the correct format and style, are more likely to ensure efficient communication and fast publication.
The File Type: Prepare your manuscript in a single file that includes the manuscript text, datasets, figures, and/or tables. JKSS only accepts Microsoft Word (MS Word) file format.
Style: Double-spaced, typed in 12-point Times New Roman with 1-inch margins on all sides. Consecutive line numbers must be included in the manuscript.
Section headings should be in bold and on a separate line.
Subheadings and subsections should have a brief title, be italicized, and placed on a separate line.
Authors are encouraged to keep subsections brief. Please number the headings and subheadings accordingly, such as.

Language: Manuscripts must be written in clear and understandable academic language—Kurdish, Arabic, and English—and formatted correctly. Authors who are not native speakers of the manuscript language are strongly recommended to have their work proofread or checked by a native speaker before submitting.
Length: The preferred length for manuscripts may vary depending on the type of paper, as outlined in the length policy.
Title: Please compose a concise and informative sentence.
Author Names, Affiliations, and ORCID: All accredited author names must be spelled correctly and appear on a single line as they are published.
Corresponding author: The corresponding author should be clearly indicated with an asterisk (*) before the author's name. Enter only the email address of the corresponding author after the address of the member organizations.
The manuscript structure should include:
Abstract - A summary of the manuscript that includes the specific aims in no more than 350 words, a brief description of the methodology, the main results, and the conclusions in a single paragraph. No references should be cited in the abstract. Unusual or unfamiliar abbreviations should be avoided, but if necessary, they must be defined when first mentioned in the abstract.
Keywords - At least three and no more than six words that capture the core of the research paper. Separate each keyword with a comma (,) on the same line.
Introduction - A concise review of relevant literature and prior work with references. Clearly state the research objectives in the final paragraph.
Methodology – Please clarify the research methods used and provide details. Published or known methods should be correctly cited, and any changes should be noted.
Findings - Be clear and concise. Explain the results of your work and their importance. Use data sets, tables, and figures to present results and enhance understanding.
Discussion - Describes the importance, implications, and effects of the results. Results and discussion may be combined or kept separate.
Conclusion - Authors should craft a conclusion that summarizes the interpretation of the results and includes recommendations. Avoid repeating points mentioned earlier.
Conflict of Interest - Disclose any potential conflicts of interest appropriately.
Acknowledgements - Briefly acknowledge all funding sources or contributors to the work in a single paragraph.
Declaration of generative AI in scientific writing: The use of AI or AI-assisted technologies must be disclosed.
References - It is the author's responsibility to ensure all cited references are complete and accurate, preserving the necessary information required by the journal. Make sure that every reference cited in the text is also included in the reference list, and vice versa. The referencing style and citations should adhere to the Harvard referencing system.
Tables and Appendices
All tables and appendices should be listed on separate pages of the manuscript after the reference section. They must be numbered sequentially according to their order in the text.
Figures
Figures should be placed on separate pages of the manuscript after the reference section. They should be numbered consecutively in the order they appear in the text. Scanned or digital images should have a high resolution of at least 300 dpi. Each figure must include a caption at the bottom, followed by the figure notes.

If your paper is accepted for publication, you will receive an email notification with the decision and the acceptance letter.
